Solos and Ensembles

This is an annual event to give players of different ages and abilities the chance to play a solo piece of their choice or take part in a small ensemble. There are different sections for youth players and senior players.

The Rules and Syllabus for the 2021 event are still under review and should be made available in November / December 2020. The 2020 pack is available to view on our downloads page.

Awarded to the most promising player across the 10 and under, 12 and under and 15 and under solo classes

19 and Under Solo Shield
Awarded to the winner of the 19 and under class
This was bought by the BBL for the 19 and under class and was presented by adjudicator Owen Farr for the first time in 2019. The 19 and under class was formed as a Senior Section class for young players of Grade 5 standard and above to allow them to showcase their technical skills in the same setting as the other senior, technical classes.

C Solo Shield
